课程内容
This course supports younger students in building reading comprehension and written expression through guided novel study and sentence-to-paragraph writing practice. Over the course of 8–12 sessions, students will:

1. Read, Discuss, and Respond
Students read assigned chapters before class, then participate in guided discussions and comprehension activities led by Ms. Parsons. Each lesson includes reading tasks and short written responses.

2. Develop Structure and Clarity in Writing
As students progress, writing becomes more structured—from sentences to paragraphs—with increasing focus on organizing ideas clearly.

3. Strengthen Reading Skills through Themed Literature
Through engaging novels and guided activities, students practice making inferences, identifying key events, and reflecting on characters’ actions.
 
Core reading materials often include:
The Lemonade War, Wish, The Wild Robot, The One and Only Ivan, and other well-loved children’s novels.

This course helps lower elementary students build reading comprehension and foundational writing skills through engaging literary texts. With a blend of discussion, guided reading, and writing tasks, students learn to express ideas clearly in complete sentences and paragraphs. The course emphasizes enjoyment, participation, and structured expression to foster confidence in young learners.
