课程内容
This course builds students’ reading comprehension and writing fluency through structured writing tasks and classic novel excerpts. Key learning components include:

1. Genre-Based Writing Practice
Students work on descriptive writing, opinion writing, cause-effect, and comparison structures.
 
2. Critical Reading & Response
Guided reading of selected novels helps students make inferences and analyze author’s purpose and theme.
 
3. Final Personal Essay
Students revise and polish a final piece that demonstrates clear logic, thoughtful insight, and expressive language.
 
Core reading materials often include:
Tuck Everlasting, Holes, Bridge to Terabithia, Esperanza Rising, Freak the Mighty, Hatchet, Matilda, The Giver, and other award-winning novels.

This course aims to enhance students’ reading comprehension and written expression through genre-based writing and literature-based analysis. Students will practice key writing types such as description, opinion, cause-effect, and comparison, while developing skills in inference, organization, and revision. By the end, they will produce a thoughtful, well-structured personal essay.
